Comfrey Ointment by Dr. Christopher has been designed to protect skin, stimulate the regeneration of tissue, accelerate epithelization, and activate cell proliferation. The effect of the ointment is determined by its ingredients. The main active ingredients are allantoin derived from comfrey, extra virgin olive oil, and beeswax. Allantoin stimulates the growth of bone tissue and regeneration of the epithelium. It is known to reduce pain, stop bleeding, andinflammation. Extra virgin olive oil accelerates the healing process of wounds and ulcers. It helps to improve the trophic cells and protect them from damage, increasing the effect of allantoin. Beeswax has an antibacterial (bactericidal) effect and has been long used in folk medicine to help nourish the skin when the following conditions are present: skin diseases, boils, sore throat, stomatitis, gingivitis, glossitis, periodontal disease, rhinitis, and other diseases. Retinol contained in beeswax ensures the integrity and normal functioning of epithelial tissues and all mucous membranes. Beta-carotene and other carotenoids in beeswax are needed for the formation of bone and epithelial tissues.
